Nick Offerman performs this classic work about the importance of small agriculture to America's way of life. According to Berry, cultural and community connections are vital to agriculture. His examination of the harmful practices of agribusiness is still as relevant today as it was when it was first published in 1977. While the dense text might have proved too challenging for some, Offerman deftly handles the narration, allowing listeners to follow Berry's astute observations on the harms of monoculture and large-scale farming operations. Offerman's straightforward performance makes the text shine and highlights the best of Berry's prose.
